So we've been experimenting with a semi-open cart model for our membership. That if someone goes to our website they can request an invite to join, and we've also been testing some webinars, an email challenge, and small promotions here and there to see what resonates the most with our teachers.
At the end of June, we had just over 3,500 teachers in our membership at the end of our live launch. Today, we are closing in on 4,000 teachers as we currently have 3,920 teachers in our club!
It has been incredible to watch these numbers grow and all of the hard work the team has put into evergreen seing results. Without evergreen, we'd be sitting close to 3,200 members with our higher churn rate in the summer. That's a massive freaking differece!
Three years ago, I was working four 12-hour days back-to-back teaching kids English online so that we could travel the world. It was a tough time living on a shoestring budget, making about $30,000 a year.
I *never* in a million years thought we would be where we are today:
• August was our highest earning month at just over $80k. This is from our program and a summit we are hosting in Denver at the end of September that I was shitting my pants about for months. I thought for sure no one would sign up.
• We hired an OBM, which was very difficult for me. Before, we had my cousin fill that role and it did not go well. It was actually holding our business back from growing. It was really, really hard to take Rick's advice and let him go because he is family. But hiring our new OBM has been the single greatest thing for our business. She knows exactly what she's doing and I don't have to worry anymore whether tasks are going to get done.
In August 2021, we made $8k. If someone told me we would do $80k just 12 months later, I would have laughed in their face. Clearly, anything is possible.
